Ellen Mason always knew she wanted to be an educator.
In grade four, the early childhood educator at Glenbrook Elementary School knew she wanted to work with children and hasn’t looked back since.
As for what makes kindergarteners a special cohort to teach, Mason fondly thinks about their innocence.
“Some people would be frustrated when a child won’t get dressed or spills their milk, but their innocence just kind of makes you laugh when those moments come.”
She also says developmental progressions in preschoolers are stark, and it’s especially rewarding to be a part of that learning.
