Since taking over policing duties in Orangeville, Dufferin OPP has welcomed a new detachment commander.
Inspector Terry Ward took over top duties on January 11th.
Ward began his career with the Ontario Provincial Police in 1995 at the Goderich Detachment.
Dufferin OPP will be responsible for policing all of Dufferin County on February 18th, when the force assumes duties from Shelburne Police Service.
Ward says he happily takes up his new post.
“I’m very excited to be part of this community. My commitment will be to build and maintain relationships and partnerships that share a common vision for public safety in this community”.
