Imagine trying to launch a career during a global pandemic.
Well many youth are attempting to do just that, but according to a Workplace Planning Board of Waterloo Wellington Dufferin report, many young people are delaying their careers.
Executive director, Charlene Hofbauer says a lot of young people don’t want to pay post-secondary education fees when online learning is the only option available.
She also says they’re having a hard time getting started and could use some direction.
Hofbauer says there’s a loss of work in fields youth are interested in and a disinterest in demand sectors, such as manufacturing and construction.
