An upcoming initiative that’s trying to achieve gender parity through all levels of politics is coming to Orangeville this Sunday with a virtual pop up event.
The Women’s Campaign School aims to pull back the curtain on the realities of running for office in hopes of encouraging more women to place their hats in the political ring.
Orangeville councillor Lisa Post says communities benefit from a different lens women bring to politics, but they take other things into consideration when they choose to run.
Post says women have the ability to win elections, they just have to be pushed to run.
The virtual pop up event runs Sunday, October 18th from 1 – 2:30 pm.
