The Town of Orangeville, in partnership with Orangeville, Shelburne and Grand Valley BIAs have received a $40,000 FedDev Ontario grant for a Digital Service Squad.
The squad will be administered by the Orangeville & Area Small Business Enterprise Centre and will begin visiting the almost 500 main street small businesses across the county in the near future.
The monies are coming from Digital Main Street Ontario, originally created in 2016 by the Toronto Association of BIAs (TABIA) and a group of strategic partners including Google, MasterCard, Microsoft, and Shopify.
A focus of the squad is to transition small businesses into the digital realm, regain lost revenue and become more resilient and competitive as the economy recovers.
