A long-time Dufferin doctor has passed away and leaves of legacy behind.
Dr. David Scott the staff of Dufferin Area Hospital in 1963 as the first specialist in surgery and held the role of chief of staff several times.
He played a key role in physician recruitment with the Greater Dufferin Area Physician Search Committee and was also involved in planning and improvements at the municipal and county.
To honor his local contributions, Headwaters Health Care Centre began an annual Award called the Dr. David Scott Award.
It is presented annually to recognize individuals or groups who have gone above and beyond to improve the overall health and wellness in Dufferin-Caledon.
