There’s no site plan nor building permit for a rifle lane expansion at the Dufferin Peel Anglers and Hunters Association, but residents are already raising concerns.
The hunting club wants to expand its existing rifle range from 6 lanes to 16 because its membership is growing.
41 Mono residents signed a petition objecting the expansion, meanwhile Mono deputy mayor John Creelman admits he too has concerns about increased noise levels, but he’d like further information before coming to an opinion.
The club’s members use the range to calibrate firearms and for target practice before hunting season.
Some members use it for general handgun target practice.
