The wrecking ball is coming in and placing condos on 60 and 62 Broadway in Orangeville.
Currently the properties house the Great Canadian Solid Wood Furniture Company and Citrus Dance Inc.
Developers are instead proposing 60 residential units and 800 square meters of retail space.
Orangeville mayor Sandy Brown says not many people oppose the development but he isn’t solid on the proposed architectural style.

But he does like the remedial work developers are offering to do at Mill Creek.

As for the future condos’ price range, developers admitted the units will be “attainable” rather than “affordable”, and Brown still doesn’t see the extra housing supply will ease Orangeville’s red hot real estate market.

The five storey mixed use building will add a 21 m structure to the town’s skyline, with some residents voicing concern over its height and its residents parking needs spilling over into adjacent streets.
