Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Public Health warns of incoming chilly temperatures
The local public health unit says tonight’s cold weather could result in frostbite within minutes, which could lead to amputation.
And if hypothermia occurs, organs can shut down to the point of death.
During these cold snaps, public health advises to limit time spent outdoors, cover up exposed skin and wear wind-resistant clothing.
It’s also a good idea to check in on family and neighbours who live alone to ensure they are warm and safe.
