Dufferin’s agriculture sector had Dufferin-Caledon MP Kyle Seeback’s ear on Thursday (Jan. 23).
Seeback held his first town hall as a member of parliament and the focus was agriculture.
Brian Besley, who operates a grain drying and greenhouse business, says the carbon tax has been weighing heavy on his bottomline.
He adds that 2019 was costly because of a soggy harvest season.
Other concerns brought up were wind turbines and rural infrastructure.
Amaranth councillor Heather Foster says rural Canada needs more attention.
Seeback accuses the Liberal government of ignoring Conservative ridings and rural communities.
