A major transformation at the Orangeville Mall is in the works.
Up until Monday (Nov. 18), mall owner Strathallen nor the town had publicly revealed any details about the renovation.
But during a discussion about moving Santa Claus’ photo booth from the mall to Alder Street Recreation Centre, mayor Sandy Brown gave some details about the new layout.
Brown says there will be at least seven big box stores facing First Street that include the existing Sport Chek, Home Sense and Michaels. He says among the new stores will be a Marshall’s and PetSmart, which will move from the Riocan Fairgrounds.
Along Hansen Boulevard there will be new storefronts built and Brown indicated the existing shoe repair store and dental office are in discussions to move into that new space.
