The reviews are in after opening night of Come Down from Up River at the Orangeville Opera House.
The show which premiered in 2018 is funny, touching and heartwarming.
Written by Norm Foster, the story is about a man who lives in the woods who visits St. John’s, Newfoundland for a checkup and stays with his estranged niece who is gay.
Foster says the story is real and can start conversation.

David Nairn, artistic director at Theatre Orangeville, says the play is about our preconceptions of what we think people are about or like.
He adds that in typical Norm Foster style, the story is about real life with some humour thrown in.
