Barb Shaughnessy says she cannot support Dufferin-Caledon Conservative candidate Kyle Seeback.
Shaughnessy, who lost last week’s nomination to Seeback, says he plays loosely with the truth and doesn’t reflect the values of the members she introduced to the party.
In an email to local Conservative Party members on Tuesday (Aug. 6), Shaughnessy provided evidence to support her claim that Seeback had support from the party and Campaign Life Coalition (CLC), even before the second nomination was announced. Among her evidence, emails from CLC.
Efforts to reach Seeback for comment following Shaughnessy’s email have gone unanswered, however, since the start of his campaign he has stated that he was not a parachute candidate.
Shaughnessy adds that the former Brampton West MP will unlikely be able to hold Dufferin-Caledon for the Conservatives beyond 2019 and that the Liberals will reopen the playbook they used to defeat him in 2015.
