Orangeville Mayor and President of the Orangeville Brampton Railway Corporation, Jeremy Williams, feels the new operating contract for the Oranegville-Brampton Railway is a better deal then they previously had.

Williams couldn't share details of the new agreement with Trillium Railway Company Limited.

Trillium started operating the 55 kilometre line this week after Cando Rail Service ceased its operation at the end of June.

Williams, welcomed the first train under the company on Tuesday (July 3).

Trillium's Vice President of Operations, Aaron White, tells the Orangeville Banner that they have yet to make a decision on whether or not to operate the Credit Valley Explorer tourist train.

Williams hopes the tourist train returns in the near future.

Williams adds that Trillium is a young and strong company that has done really good work in other parts of the province and will be a good fit. Trillium also operates the Port Colborne Harbour Railway in the Niagara Region.
