Since opening the doors at its new office in Orangeville a couple of months ago, Canadian Mental Health Association Peel-Dufferin has already helped 150 patients from across Dufferin County.

CHMA's new Dufferin office is located at 1 Elizabeth Street beside the Dufferin Family Health Team.

CEO David Smith says some of the programs and services now offered in Dufferin include behavioral support, family and court support and support through the Ontario Telemedicine Network.

The newest program now offered in Dufferin is the Rapid Access Addiction Clinic.

That program has already helped 15 patients.

Central West LHIN Board Chair Carmen Domanico says most of the new programs at CMHA Peel-Dufferin have been funded by the LHIN.

One in five Canadians have a mental health issue. Mental illnesses can take many forms, just as physical illnesses do. This week is Mental Health Week and you are encouraged to #GetLoud about what mental health really is.
