Mono residents are being encouraged to weigh-in on the state of the town's recreation and parks.

Director of Recreation, Kim Perryman, says a Parkland Needs Study is underway and it will outline what the town's recreation needs are and make recommendations as to what it should invest in.

Perryman adds that user groups such as the lawn bowling and astronomy clubs are also participating in the study.

Mono is hosting three drop-in sessions for residents to provide their input. The first one is Thursday (Mar. 8) from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Mono Community Centre. Sessions two and three are March 19 from 1-3 p.m. and 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Monora Park Pavilion.

Perryman says residents should also complete the parks and recreation survey before March 23.

The Parkland Needs Study final draft is to be presented to council in late June.
