SHELBURNE'S INAUGURAL POLAR PLUNGE SET FOR FAMILY DAY
2/12/2018 11:04:20 AM

Shelburne Mayor Ken Bennington has accepted the challenge and will take a dip at the town's first ever Polar Plunge.

Deputy Mayor Geoff Dunlop and Councillor Dan Sample have also agreed to participate.

Shelburne Police Constable Jeff McLean is organizing the Polar Plunge, which is a fundraiser for Special Olympics.

Polar Plunges across Ontario raised about $355,000 last year and $2-million in the last seven years.

McLean hopes the local plunge can generate $10,000 in donations.

The Polar Plunge will take place during Shelburne's Shelbrr Fest on Family Day (Mon. Feb. 19) starting at 1:30 p.m..
