ORANGEVILLE OTTERS ACHIEVE NEW CLUB RECORD AT SHORT COURSE CHAMPIONSHIP

The Orangeville Otters Swim Club continues to break more records.


A record 65 swimmers qualified for the Huronia Regional Short Course Championship in Bracebridge this past weekend.


The club finished with an unprecedented 138 medals (55 Gold, 43 Silver and 40 Bronze) putting them in second place in the medal count behind the Barrie Trojans Swim Club.


It's a big jump from last year's fourth place finish.


The meet was a kick-off to the spring championship meets.


The 13 and under qualifiers will attend the Short Course Winter Festival later this month in Ottawa and the 13 and over Otters will be attending the Ontario Spring Provincial Championships in March hosted by Etobicoke.


Senior swimmers will racing to qualify for Senior Nationals held in Montreal in April.
