OPS READYING OFFICERS FOR MARIJUANA LEGALIZATION
1/12/2018 11:30:58 AM

While many can't wait for marijuana to become legal this year, Orangeville Police Service is preparing for a potential spike in use.

With no court-approved device to measure someone's impairment by drug, Chief Wayne Kalinski says the goal is to have a majority of officers trained as drug recognition experts.

One concern Chief Kalinski has with the legislation is that adults will be allowed to grow their own plants.

Part of the government's legalization plan is to rub out the black market, but Kalinski says it will always be there.
