A temperature freefall could cause flash freezing in and around the Orangeville area Friday (Jan. 12).

Environment Canada has issued a flash freeze warning for the region as mild temperatures are expected to fall quick.

At 5:00 a.m. Friday, the temperature in Orangeville was 10 degrees. By 7:00 a.m., the temperature is expected to be around zero and will continue to drop to minus seven degrees by the afternoon.

Ponding water, slush, and rain will freeze as the temperature drops. Roads, sidewalks, and parking lots will become icy.
