NEW LOCAL GROUP WANTS TO INCREASE EDUCATION ABOUT CONCUSSIONS
1/9/2018 5:06:52 PM

A new group wants to make sure every parent has the latest information on concussions.

Concussion Orientation for Parents and Leaders of Active Youth (COPLAY) will host a seminar Thursday (Jan. 11) to better inform the community about brain injuries.

COPLAY member Darrin Davidson says researchers, doctors, and governments that have been driving the message of concussion awareness and have increased the demand for more education.

Davidson says a majority of the local minor sports organizations have supported the seminar.

He sees the seminars turning into a province-wide initiative.

Thursday's seminar starting at 6:30 p.m. at Orangeville District Secondary School (ODSS) is being held in co-operation with Orangeville's Parks and Recreation Department.

Pre-registration is required.
