DUFFERIN EMS TO GET A FOURTH OVERNIGHT AMBULANCE
12/4/2017 4:42:00 PM

Dufferin EMS will add another ambulance overnight in Orangeville.

That will increase the number of ambulances on-duty overnight in Dufferin County from three to four.

The $500,000 cost will be split between the county and province.

Part-time paramedics are likely to be promoted to the four new full-time positions that will be created. New part-timers would have to be hired.

Overnight emergency calls in Dufferin County have increased by 35 per cent since 2008.

The additional ambulance starting in July will compensate for that increase.
