12/4/2017 10:45:06 AM

Shelburne council has made additional cuts to its budget to lower the tax rate.

Council is expected to ask staff Monday (Dec. 4) to prepare a bylaw to officially pass the 2018 budget at its final meeting this month.

About $68,000 was cut from the budget to lower the tax rate increase to three per cent.

Some of the items removed included the office summer student ($9,883), Town Hall lobby security cameras ($7,200), back lane restructuring ($15,000), and trackless rental fees ($2,280).

The average assessed property at $303,897 would see a $63.56 increase on the town portion of the tax bill.
