Environment Canada has upgraded its snow squall watch to a warning.

Orangeville and Dufferin County could see up to 15 cm of snow in 12 hours or less.

The weather agency says snowfall will weaken by Friday evening.

Environment Canada is reminding people that snow squalls can cause varying weather conditions. It says changes between clear conditions and heavy snow can happen within just a few kilometers.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
