TEACHERS WHO CREATED GRANDPALS NAMED RECIPIENTS OF GOVERNOR GENERAL AWARD

The creators of the GrandPals program at Montgomery Village Public School are being recognized for their work.


Teacher's Marc Mailhot and Lynda Brown have been named recipients of the 2017 Governor General's History Award for Excellence in Teaching.


Mailhot and Brown created the GrandPals program over five-years ago.


The program connects students with seniors over the internet.


GrandPals has expanded to Orangeville Christian School and the City of Burlington.


The award recognizes Canadian teachers that inspire other teachers and students, as well as those who strive for excellence in Canadian history education.
