11/9/2017 7:42:03 AM

The trial for a St. Benedict Elementary School kindergarten teacher accused of assaulting a student got underway Wednesday (Nov. 8).

Forty-seven year-old Jennifer Lynn Peltier has pleaded not guilty in the case.

Last April, Peltier allegedly dragged a student by the arm, put them in a chair and pinned them against a desk in her classroom.

Court heard from a college student who testified she witnessed the incident and reported it to school officials.

She was doing a practicum and working with the student at the time of the incident.
