Faculty at Ontario's 24 colleges, including Humber and Georgian's Orangeville campuses, could strike Monday (Oct. 16).

The Ontario Public Service Employees Union, which represents 12,000 faculty, has set a strike deadline of 12:01 a.m..

Union bargainning chair JP Hornick says Tuesday was another frustrating day of bargaining. OPSEU rejected the College Employer Council's final offer saying the employer refused to consider key faculty issue.

The deal includes a 7.75 per cent wage increase over four years, with a new full-time faculty maximum of more than $115,000 by October of 2020.

Key issues include the role of faculty in academic decision-making and fair treatment for contract faculty.

The college's bargaining team chair says the union should allow faculty to decide by putting the offer to a vote.
