5/19/2017 3:46:18 PM

The County of Dufferin has awarded the contract to build a new social housing development in Orangeville to a Woodbridge contractor.

JR Certus Construction Ltd. will build the 24-unit social housing project on Lawrence Avenue for $6.1-million.

The three building complex will have units for both families and seniors.

The county originally budgeted $7.5-million for the project, but that has now been lowered to $7.2-million with over $2-million being covered by provincial and federal grants.

Sixteen units are expected to be built this year with the remaining units to be completed in 2018.
