DAMAGED TIRE LEADS TO ARREST OF AN IMPAIRED DRIVER IN CALEDON
4/20/2017 9:01:32 AM

Caledon OPP say sparks and tire debris were flying off a vehicle it pulled over during the Wednesday (Apr. 19) morning rush hour on Highway 10.

Police responded to a report of an erratic driver at about 6:10 a.m. just south of Charleston Sideroad in Caledon Village.

By the time the officer pulled the vehicle over, the driver had been driving with the front driver's side tire half off the rim.

Upon investigation, police allege the 38-year-old male driver from Mississauga was drunk.

He was arrested and charged with driving while impaired by alchol, driving with more than 80mgs of alcohol in blood and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

His license was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for a week. He will appear in court next month.
